​Dongguan's foreign trade reaches 1.58 trillion yuan in 2025

Dongguan recorded total imports and exports of 1.58 trillion yuan in 2025, ranking fifth nationwide and up 13.8 percent year on year. The growth rate ranked second among China's trillion-yuan foreign trade cities.

Statistics showed that exports totaled 970.74 billion yuan, up 9.1 percent year on year, while imports surged 22.1 percent to 608.7 billion yuan, reflecting strong manufacturing capacity and expanding market demand. From 2021 to 2025, Dongguan's foreign trade increased by more than 249 billion yuan.

In 2025, Dongguan conducted import and export business with over 230 countries and regions, and trade with 56 of these experienced a growth rate of over 50 percent, highlighting a more diversified market structure.

Notably, the number of enterprises engaged in import-export activities reached 29,000, nearly 5,000 more than in 2024. Private enterprises accounted for 993.99 billion yuan in trade value, rising 20.3 percent year on year and contributing significantly to overall growth.

New trade models and competitive products further support development. General trade grew 17.1 percent, while cross-border e-commerce overseas warehouse exports surged 64.2 percent. Additionally, exports of mechanical and electrical products rose 12.5 percent, with locally branded products gaining a stronger global presence.
