GAC's ownbrand vehicle sales, exports surge in H1

Sales of vehicles under GAC Group's own brands became a significant growth engine for the Guangzhou-based automaker in the first half of 2026, according to its interim report.

In the first half, sales of GAC's own brand vehicles reached 346,000 units, up 35.69 percent year-on-year and accounting for 44.75 percent of the group's total vehicle sales.

During the same period, exports of GAC's own brand vehicles surged 132 percent year-on-year to 121,500 units, nearly matching the total for the whole of 2025, as per the report.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, passenger vehicle sales in China totaled 12.72 million units in the first half, down 6.0 percent year-on-year. The country's automobile exports rose 65.3 percent year-on-year during the same period.

In the first half, the company entered 32 new overseas markets, expanding its global presence to 110 countries and regions, supported by 746 overseas sales and service outlets.

GAC plans to launch several new models in the second half and accelerate its channel expansion by promoting the adoption of new energy vehicles in rural areas.

Having certified 600 outlets in the first half, the company plans to establish 1,000 authorized outlets in county-level markets by the end of the year, according to the report.
