Reliable power keeps Jiangmen's motorcycle industry in fast lane

A major event blending motorcycle parades, cultural displays, and industry exchange recently wrapped up in Jiangmen, showcasing the city's vibrant motorcycle sector to riders and industry players alike.

Behind the roar of engines and bustling scenes, a steady and innovative power supply is quietly fueling the industry's push into the global market.

As home to China's largest motorcycle manufacturer, Jiangmen sends its products to more than 60 countries and regions worldwide.

In Pengjiang District, production lines run around the clock. To meet these operational demands, Jiangmen Power Supply Bureau, Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd., and CSG have rolled out customized solutions under a "one enterprise, one policy" approach.

This includes dedicated service teams for major manufacturers, offering everything from regular preventive checks of power distribution facilities and key equipment monitoring to 24/7 rapid response support.

Stable electricity serves as the foundation of industrial growth, while green energy acts as a new engine for boosting international competitiveness.

This synergy is clearly demonstrated at Jiangmen Zhufeng Motorcycle Co., Ltd.'s digital factory.

When the company embarked on digital upgrades and capacity expansion, Jiangmen Power Supply Bureau stepped in early to optimize the electricity plan, reducing the time required for connecting new transformers by nearly half compared to standard procedures.

At the same time, the company's rooftop distributed photovoltaic project was smoothly integrated into the grid with technical support from Jiangmen Power Supply Bureau. This combination of reliable and clean energy is helping local manufacturers enhance their appeal in international markets.

Looking ahead, the Jiangmen Power Supply Bureau has also pioneered an "Electricity Awaits Projects" model to stay ahead of industrial needs. A prime example is the second-phase industrial park of Daye Motorcycle—a 5-billion-yuan investment expected to add one million units of annual production capacity upon completion.

Facing a projected capacity increase of 125,000 kVA by 2025, along with stringent power quality and reliability requirements, the bureau leveraged a government-business-electricity collaboration mechanism.

Managers worked closely with the project team, tracking progress in real-time and coordinating with government departments to open green channels, streamlining the entire process.

From keeping production lines running nonstop and supporting solar energy projects that cut costs to paving the way for future industrial parks, Jiangmen's power service system is deeply embedded in every step of the local motorcycle industry's design, production, and expansion.
