A project to establish a clothing export base was officially signed in Zhangcha Subdistrict, Chancheng District, Foshan, as the local knitwear industry seeks to expand its global reach.
The project, jointly developed by Zhangcha Subdistrict and Shenzhen Zhonggongmei Commercial Operations Co., Ltd., aims to simplify textile exports by bringing together key services under one roof.
Covering 5,000 square meters, the base will provide full-process export services covering design, sourcing, customs clearance, logistics, tax rebate processing and overseas branding. It will also set up dedicated zones for cross-border e-commerce, public service consultation and product development.
Local officials said the base will offer a "12+N" service system covering customs clearance, financial support, international shipping, AI-powered digital tools and green compliance. The project is also expected to accelerate tax rebates, lower financing costs and reduce inspection fees.
Zhangcha is one of China's largest production clusters for knitted fabrics and garments, with around 37,000 businesses and annual output of more than 60 billion yuan. Despite its manufacturing strength, many local firms have long relied on third-party exporters or entered overseas markets on their own.
The new export base is designed to help companies pool resources, cut costs and expand into overseas markets through a shared export platform.
