Huizhou low-altitude application integration base set for 2026 launch in Huiyang

A low-altitude economy application integration base is currently under rapid construction in Huiyang District, Huizhou, and is expected to begin operations in April 2026. Once completed, the base will serve as a key platform driving the regional low-altitude industry ecosystem, integrating industry, academia, research, and practical applications while fostering talent development.

Located in Sanhe Subdistrict, the base is designed as a comprehensive industrial hub. The first floor will host an exhibition center featuring around 40 leading enterprises from across the industry chain—including aircraft assembly, components, hardware, and software—creating a dynamic showcase for cutting-edge low-altitude technologies.

Innovation remains at the core of the project. The second floor of Building A will be dedicated to R&D, focusing on technological breakthroughs in medium and large unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), supporting Huizhou's push into high-end UAV manufacturing and core technology development.

Building B will emphasize integrated development and talent cultivation. It will include a hands-on learning and lab center for young students, as well as a large conference facility. The base aims to promote a "low-altitude + AI" integrated model and adopt project-based learning approaches to inspire creativity and practical skills among youth, encouraging them to design their own drones or AI applications.

With a total floor area of 35,000 square meters, including a 3,600-square-meter main structure, the base will also feature a 200-meter-by-20-meter professional UAV test runway. This facility will provide essential testing conditions for enterprises and support advanced training for professional UAV pilots. Going beyond basic certification programs, the base plans to offer practical training in real-world scenarios, including agricultural plant protection, surveying, emergency response, and medical transport.
