PPIG Shenzhen Office opens in Longgang, unlocking 6 billion yuan in Indonesian orders

The Shenzhen Representative Office of the Guangdong-Indonesia Trade Promotion Association (PPIG) was inaugurated in Longgang, Shenzhen, this year. At the Guangdong-Indonesia AI, Healthcare and New Energy Industry Exchange and Cooperation Event held at the Longgang Enterprise Internationalization Service Base, the Indonesian side unveiled 49 procurement orders in a single batch, worth a combined 6 billion yuan (more than USD 890 million), covering sectors such as security, energy, mining, fisheries and healthcare.

The event also opened up engineering project opportunities, including the upgrading and renovation of 200 aging hospitals and the construction of five high-end hotels in Bali.

For SMEs, the association means a change in the playbook for going global. Shenzhen BFTD Technology Co., Ltd., a Longgang-based body camera maker, said it previously could reach overseas customers only indirectly through distributors. Now, through a free channel set up by Longgang District and the PPIG, it is dealing directly with Indonesian market users, including the Indonesian police, and is poised to secure its first government orders.

The Longgang Enterprise Internationalization Service Base is an SME overseas-expansion platform co-built by the state, the city and the district, with links to more than 21,000 overseas industrial parks and partner organizations across 127 countries.

Data presented at the event showed that Indonesia is one of Guangdong's most important trading partners in ASEAN. In 2025, Guangdong's exports to Indonesia reached 178 billion yuan (more than USD 26 billion), up 3.99 percent year on year and accounting for one-sixth of China-Indonesia bilateral trade.

With RCEP tailwinds, Longgang's industrial clusters in AI, new energy, high-end manufacturing and healthcare are highly complementary to Indonesian market demand, pointing to enormous potential for two-way cooperation.
