Maoming to build Asia's leading sardine processing base

On July 16, the signing ceremony for the Guangdong Yumanzai Maoming Bohe Production Base project was held in the Maoming Binhai New Area. With a total investment of 350 million yuan, the project will establish intelligent production lines for sardine cans with an annual output of 50,000 tons in two phases. Once completed, it will become one of the leading sardine processing bases in Asia.

According to data from the China Canned Food Industry Association, China's annual export volume of sardine cans reaches approximately 8,000 shipping containers, equivalent to nearly 200,000 tons, with the export value of this single product exceeding 3 billion yuan. The South China Sea is one of the world's top ten sardine-producing regions, with an annual output of over 800,000 tons.

As the largest fishing port in the South China Sea and one of the top ten fishing ports in China, the Maoming Bohe Fishing Port Economic Zone has become the preferred location for enterprises looking to expand production. A representative from Guangdong Yumanzai Food Co., Ltd. stated that the company will invest in and build 10 sardine can production lines, with an annual output of 120 million sardine cans, as well as 5 tuna can production lines with an annual output of 30 million tuna cans.
