During the three-day expo, five prefectural promotions will facilitate links between local areas and suppliers, buyers, and resources.
Liu Xu, deputy director general of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regional government, called the expo an opportunity for Xinjiang to develop exchanges and cooperation with Guangdong while finding a market for its quality produce. Liu made the remarks at a news conference in Guangzhou on Friday.
According to Liu, Xinjiang's fruit and nut planting area stood at around 13,300 square kilometers, yielding 15 million metric tons of fruit in 2025.
Xinjiang's jujubes, grapes, apricots, and almonds now lead the country in planting area and output. Its walnuts, apples, wolfberries, and other specialty crops also sit high on national rankings.
"Xinjiang's characteristic fruit and nut industry has developed into a green industry with broad coverage, extensive benefits for locals, and great growth potential, playing a role in transforming the region from a major fruit and nut producing region into a powerhouse," Liu said.
Covering a floor space of 6,000 square meters in the China Import and Export Fair Complex, the expo consists of six exhibition halls which include 216 standard booths.
More than 270 companies from Xinjiang's 14 prefecture-level cities, plus Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, will take part in the expo. More than 870 fruits, agricultural products, and their processed products will be displayed to seek expanded cooperation and sales with domestic and international companies.
The expo was jointly organized by the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regional government and the Guangdong provincial government.
