South China's Titanium Valley takes shape as a 100-billion-yuan industrial hub

The South China Titanium Valley, a key provincial project in Maoming High-Tech Zone, is progressing rapidly.

The first-phase projects—including 1 million tons of titanium-zirconium new materials refining, 500,000 tons of high-grade titanium-rich feedstock, and 30,000 tons of titanium products—are partially underway, with plans to complete two billion yuan in fixed-asset investments by 2025 and achieve phased production by late this year and early next year.

The second phase, featuring 50,000 tons of sponge titanium and 300,000 tons of chlorinated titanium dioxide, is in advanced preparations and is expected to break ground in early 2026.

The project's exhibition hall showcases titanium alloy applications in aerospace, marine engineering, and more, including lightweight bicycles and aerospace components, highlighting their high strength and market potential.

Upon full completion, the South China Titanium Valley is projected to generate an annual output value of 51.5 billion yuan, with future expansion poised to create a 100-billion-yuan titanium-zirconium industrial cluster, boosting high-end manufacturing in Maoming and Guangdong.
