RCEP marks 3rd anniversary: Guangdong firms' import tariff savings hit 1.4 bln yuan

June 2026 marks the third anniversary of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) entering into force. Guangdong's foreign trade enterprises have benefited from RCEP tariff concessions for three consecutive years, with cumulative tariff savings totaling 1.4 billion yuan.

As the world's largest free trade pact covering 15 economies, RCEP has continued to deliver policy dividends including tariff cuts and streamlined customs clearance, boosting regional economic growth and corporate competitiveness.

According to customs statistics, imports valued at 53.8 billion yuan via Guangdong ports have qualified for RCEP preferential tariffs since June 2, 2023, and total tariff savings have reached 1.4 billion yuan over the past three years. Annual growth in tariff savings hit 8.81% in 2023, 32.35% in 2024, and 32.12% in 2025.

Guangdong Customs will further improve RCEP-related clearance services, guiding enterprises to choose the most beneficial tariff options. Efforts have also been made to cultivate authorized exporters and certified enterprises to expand the pool of RCEP-eligible beneficiaries.
