On the evening of July 25, at the opening match of the Dianbai District Basketball Tournament in Maoming, the Magang Town team exchanged local taros with the opposite team's specialties. The taro is telling the industrial transformation story of Kangli Village.
Once upon a time, although the taros from Kangli Village had a good reputation, they were caught in the predicament of scattered planting and low-price sales. Now, taking advantage of the development momentum, a 750,000-yuan taro processing base is about to start operations. A 5,000-ton production line will turn taros into products such as ice cream and prepared dishes.
Furthermore, the registration of the "Kengnei Taro" trademark is in progress. The brand's reputation is being built through unified packaging and exhibition promotion. Once the base is operational, it will create 50 jobs daily, and the small taro is growing into a people-enriching industry.
