Located in Huangpu District, Guangzhou, alongside the historic Fuxu Canal and near Amway's Guangzhou manufacturing base, the new plaza offers 21,500 square meters of waterfront space featuring a pier, theater, fitness trails, and sports facilities. A lifestyle market jointly created by Amway community organizers and local food vendors promotes a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle.

The plaza is one of Amway's key projects since becoming Guangzhou's city partner in August 2025. The company plans to use the 15th National Games as an opportunity to support the city's health industry and promote public health literacy.

Michael Nelson, President & CEO of Amway Global, highlighted China's large market, efficient supply chains, and strong innovation environment, reaffirming that China remains Amway's most important strategic market. He expressed confidence in investing in China and announced that Amway has launched a five-year investment plan worth 2.1 billion yuan, covering the full scope of its operations in China.

The plan includes 700 million yuan to upgrade Amway's Guangzhou production base and strengthen the global supply chain, 400 million yuan to enhance digital and intelligent infrastructure, 500 million yuan to upgrade more than 100 experience centers nationwide, and another 500 million yuan for research and development, covering organic farm development, plant-based anti-aging studies, and space-breeding programs.

As part of the expansion, the Amway China R&D Center and Health Innovation Lab recently opened in the Guangzhou Development District. The 5,100-square-meter facility includes 12 specialized laboratories and seven pilot production lines, establishing a complete chain from basic research to industrial application. The lab will also promote collaborative innovation and support SMEs, strengthening the city's health industry cluster.

Over the past three decades, Amway has partnered with leading institutions such as the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, contributing to national research programs in plant-based nutrition. The company now maintains one of the sector's largest plant resource libraries and uses its AI system "Shennong" to advance work in molecular biology and traditional Chinese medicine. It has also conducted three successful aerospace breeding missions involving Chinese medicinal plants, with related products now sold globally.

Frances Yu, President of Amway China, said the company's commitment to China has remained unchanged for 30 years: its mission to help people live healthier and better; its long-term confidence in the Chinese market, with continued investment from its base in Guangzhou to serve China and reach global markets; and its dedication to aligning with national strategies and social development.
