Guangdong has invited businesses from China and abroad to invest in the province at the Investment Guangdong Info Session, held in Xiamen on Sept 7, ahead of the 26th China International Investment and Trade Fair (CIFIT). Hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, the session showcased investment opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the low-altitude economy.

The event brought together government officials, investment platforms, industrial parks and business representatives to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation between Guangdong and global businesses.

Guangdong highlighted its strong industrial base, including 10-trillion-yuan-level industrial clusters and well-developed supply chains, as a key advantage for investors. The province also promoted the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone and Nansha as major platforms for investment and access.

The session also highlighted opportunities in AI and the low-altitude economy. Guangdong has a complete AI industry chain and more than 15,000 companies in the low-altitude economy, including aircraft manufacturing, applications and airspace support. The four Greater Bay Area cooperation platforms, as well as Shanwei and Guangzhou's Huadu district, also presented local investment opportunities.

Meanwhile, TÜV Rheinland and McDonald's China, which have operated in Guangdong for years, shared their experiences at the session. Representatives said the province's industrial ecosystem and increasingly market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment have strengthened their confidence in expanding their operations in Guangdong.

Guangdong is showcasing its investment opportunities at a 720-square-meter exhibition area at this year's fair. As a guest province of honor at CIFIT, it is using the event to promote investment and cooperation with businesses from around the world.
