Chinese technology giant Huawei and state-owned automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) have officially launched a jointly developed smart electric vehicle brand named AISTALAND. The unveiling took place on March 17 in Guangzhou's Nansha District.

The first model, the GT7, was presented as a "smart shooting brake" vehicle. The companies stated that the car incorporates Huawei's Qiankun intelligent driving system, its HarmonyOS-powered cockpit, and a proprietary digital chassis. It is equipped with a triple-motor setup and a custom Kirin battery pack. A 96-beam LiDAR sensor is part of the hardware suite.
Liu Jiaming, CEO of the new AISTALAND unit, described the partnership's structure: Huawei provides the full suite of intelligent solutions, while GAC handles research, development, and manufacturing, leveraging its production experience. Huawei engineers are reportedly stationed in Guangzhou to work alongside the AISTALAND team.

At the event, the company announced Chinese actor Huang Jingyu as its global brand ambassador. Huang also became the first customer to place a paid reservation for the GT7, opening a reservation channel for the public ahead of the release of pricing details.
AISTALAND outlined a three-year product plan, aiming to launch two new models in 2026, including a smart mid-to-large SUV, with intentions to cover more vehicle categories subsequently. The brand plans to establish 300 retail stores in key commercial districts across China. Customer test drives for the GT7 are scheduled to begin in April.

The launch follows a February commitment by Guangzhou's municipal government to support deepening strategic cooperation between GAC and Huawei to create a premium NEV brand.
