Maoming's deeply processed fruit exports surge over 26%

Maoming has developed specialized fruit industries, including lychee, longan, and banana. In recent years, local enterprises have focused on deep processing, creating a range of products such as ready-to-eat dried fruits, concentrated fruit juices, and flavored beverages for overseas markets.

According to Maoming Customs, as of November 2025, the customs has supervised the export of over 4,650 tons of deeply processed specialized fruit products, valued at more than 88 million yuan. This represents year-on-year growth of 26.5% in volume and 12.5% in value, with shipments reaching 21 countries and regions worldwide.

Maoming-branded deeply processed fruit products have expanded their global footprint. Lychee in syrup cans, known for their "zero additives," have maintained steady popularity in North America; new mooncake fillings such as longan and kumquat are favored by Singaporean consumers; and Maoming's dried fruits, tailored to Central and Western Asian tastes, have seen rising exports and entered new markets like Azerbaijan and Georgia this year.

Wen Jianzhong, person in charge of Maoming Baiguoyuan Food Co., Ltd., recently secured a new order from Uzbekistan. "In the past, we chased orders, but now with professional standards and guidance, we can explore markets with greater confidence," he noted.

Nowadays, more deeply processed agricultural goods—including Huazhou tangerine peel products and special tea extracts—have made their overseas debut.
