Huizhou in south China's Guangdong Province has recently fully implemented its "Innovation Points System," allowing a number of enterprises to secure loans by accumulating innovation-based points, according to the Huizhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau.

The Innovation Points System is a data-driven sci-tech finance policy tool designed to quantify and assess enterprises' innovation capabilities, providing a key reference for financial institutions in credit evaluation and loan issuance. Through the system, technology enterprises can convert their innovation performance into measurable points, which are then translated into much-needed financing, effectively alleviating funding constraints.

At present, the Huizhou Enterprise Innovation Points Management System has been officially put into operation. The platform has registered more than 3,800 sci-tech enterprises and brought together 17 banking institutions. Among them, 15 banks have launched dedicated financial products, including "Innovation Points Loans," with 2,022 registered enterprises already receiving credit support or loans.
