Global developers gather in Dongguan's Songshan Lake for HarmonyOS gala

The Huawei Developer Conference 2026 (HDC 2026) was held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan City from June 12 to 14. Tens of thousands of developers, industry experts, and ecosystem partners from around the world gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in the HarmonyOS ecosystem and artificial intelligence.

Held alongside HDC 2026, the Songshan Lake Developer Conference 2026 (SDC 2026) from June 11 to 14 featured more than 20 themed activities at one main venue in the Uland Cultural and Artistic District, and three sub-venues.

These activities, such as sci-tech exhibitions, leisure markets, outdoor sports, and other experiences, brought technology and art together with cultural tourism and consumption.

This year's SDC, the fourth consecutive edition held alongside HDC, was comprehensively upgraded in both content and format, with sci-tech innovation at its core.

The "Smart Creation Runway-Dongguan Quality Products" was launched on the evening of June 11. The TLG Fengguan Y9 off-road vehicle made its global debut, and the TLG Guardian Series - Xiaoqi Police Motorcycle, fitted with HarmonyOS Connect, was also unveiled. Huawei AI smart glasses were used as live-streaming cameras. "Xiaoyi," a humanoid robot developed by Lingyi iTech, put on a lively dance performance to music played on the locally made Stringless Guitar. Displays of Huawei's latest smartphones and earphones, together with vehicles from all five brands under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, highlighted the vitality of the HarmonyOS industrial cluster.

Half of the world's AI smart glasses are manufactured in Dongguan. Snoko G10 AI smart glasses, a representative product made in Dongguan, were showcased on the runway. Integrated with the HarmonyOS ecosystem, the glasses support real-time Chinese-English translation, winning wide acclaim from attendees.

A range of other innovative products also attracted attention, including HASH's FLOW series backpacks and 3D-printed footwear, BACKFIRE's Nalu, the world's first electric land surfboard, and ToyCity's HarmonyOS-enabled XiaoPa AI Doll. Together, these products gave attendees a firsthand look at how smart manufacturing and smart living are reshaping daily life.

The interactive experience area drew large crowds. HASH's 3D-printed wearables, TLG products, and BACKFIRE electric surfboards proved especially popular. The Huawei product demo zone also attracted record numbers of visitors. During the four-day event, product sales surged by 278% compared with usual days.
