A Panama-flagged vessel has loaded more than 3,000 tons of soybean goods at a newly opened terminal in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province and has set sail for Japan, marking the facility's first international shipment.

The Royal Dream has set sail after completing the loading of cargo produced by Yihai Kerry (Chaozhou) Food Industry Co. Ltd. It departed from the Chaozhou Asia-Pacific Fuel Storage Public General Terminal with support from local maritime authorities and other port agencies.
The terminal's first foreign-trade call comes after it passes the port-opening inspection. Previously, it had only served domestic routes. This change marks the facility's transition to combined domestic and international operations.

The Chaozhou maritime authority announced that it had coordinated with the terminal operator and shipper ahead of the shipment. Authorities established a dedicated approval process for the vessel's arrival and departure, allowing applications to be processed online and shortening turnaround times. In addition, the authority carried out patrols in the approach channel to maintain navigational safety.
The terminal is the first grain import terminal in eastern Guangdong and western Fujian, with an annual design throughput capacity of 6.04 million tons. It serves a cluster of local companies, including Yihai Kerry.
