140th Canton Fair Phase 2 opens focusing on quality home life, smart and green products

The second phase of the 140th Canton Fair opened its doors on October 23, shifting the spotlight from cutting-edge electronics to home living products under the theme "Quality Home Life," as the 70-year-old trade event continues its three-phase run through November 4.

The second phase occupies an exhibition area of 515,000 square meters with more than 25,000 booths across 14 sections in three major categories. Around 11,000 exhibitors are participating in this phase, including over 3,600 high-quality enterprises recognized as specialized and sophisticated "little giants" or single-champion firms in their respective niches.

A total of 2.376 million products are on display, with new products, green products and those with independent intellectual property rights accounting for 24.2 percent, 26.9 percent and 25 percent, respectively.

The strong presence of green offerings reflects a broader shift at this year's fair, where sustainability has moved from a marketing label to a core competitive requirement for home construction and building materials. Several exhibiting brands have obtained authoritative certifications, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's NAF designation and the EU's CE marking.

The second phase also features a dedicated fashion accessories section with 59 companies occupying 180 booths, showcasing cultivated diamonds, moissanite, pearls, silver and copper craftsmanship and cultural heritage-inspired designs. The integration of traditional techniques such as filigree inlay and cloisonné enamel with modern jewelry categories is drawing attention from international buyers seeking differentiated, design-led products.

The first phase, which concluded on October 19, attracted 189,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions, up 13.3 percent from the previous session. The second phase runs through October 27, with the third and final phase scheduled for October 31 to November 4.
