On September 3, a total of 27 footwear manufacturing and shoe material supply enterprises from Huizhou's Huidong County are present at the 2025 "Moda China" International Shoes, Bags and Apparel Fashion Fair ("Moda China Fashion Fair") being held in Shanghai. On the first day alone, they achieved over 100,000 yuan in transaction volume through on-site live streaming, highlighting the full-chain advantages of the county's footwear industry.

At the fair venue, the collective trademark of "Huidong Women's Shoes" – displayed on a red doorframe with golden characters – was particularly striking. Twenty exhibition counters showcased more than 1,000 styles of fashionable women's shoes, a dazzling array that fully demonstrated Huidong's strength in design, R&D, and manufacturing as the "China Women's Footwear Production Base."

The fair lasts for three days and includes two major pavilions – the Leather Industry Raw Materials Pavilion and the Footwear, Bags & Apparel Finished Products Pavilion – covering an area of over 20,000 square meters. Professional buyers and procurement teams from  countries and regions such as the EU, Russia, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East are in attendance.

The footwear industry is a pillar and key livelihood sector of Huidong County. Since the establishment of its first footwear enterprise in 1981, Huidong's footwear sector has undergone over 40 years of meticulous development. It has formed an integrated development pattern of production, marketing, research, and education, with fashionable women's shoes as its core product. In 2023, Huidong produced 880 million pairs of shoes, with an output value of 37.6 billion yuan – a year-on-year growth of 9.6%. Tax revenue from the footwear industry reached 440 million yuan, up 11.8% year-on-year. The sector employs 160,000 people, accounting for 34% of the county's non-agricultural workforce, and has become a key driver of employment.

As the "China Women's Footwear Production Base" and a National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base (Footwear), Huidong's participation in the Moda China Fashion Fair focused on showcasing the strengths of enterprises across the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Huidong women's footwear industrial chain, including independent R&D, manufacturing, raw material supply, and quality inspection.
