The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin recorded a gross domestic product (GDP) of 28.687 billion yuan in H1 2026, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.5 percent.
The secondary industry contributed 2.794 billion yuan, up 13.5 percent year-on-year, while the tertiary industry generated 25.893 billion yuan, up 6.8 percent.

Customs data showed that total imports and exports of the Cooperation Zone reached 36.15 billion yuan in H1, soaring 60.2 percent from a year earlier, with the growth rate accelerating by 9.2 percentage points compared to Q1.
Exports stood at 25.689 billion yuan, jumping 86.1 percent, while imports rose by 19.4 percent to 10.462 billion yuan, accelerating by 25.0 percentage points from Q1.
As of the end of June, the Cooperation Zone housed 8,193 Macao-invested business entities, up 11.5 percent year-on-year. They now account for 15.4 percent of all business entities in the zone, a share increase of 3.0 percentage points year-on-year.
The manufacturing added value increased by 314.4 percent year-on-year, representing an acceleration of 25.4 percentage points compared with Q1. Within this sector, the added value of high-tech manufacturing grew by 648.8 percent year-on-year.
Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 3.184 billion yuan in H1 2026, an increase of 24.5 percent year-on-year.
