Maoming Binhai New Area's Maoba Xian Food Co., Ltd. recently delivered 20 tons of premium green shrimp to Hong Kong, marking the brand's first entry into the Hong Kong seafood market.
"Maoba Xian (茂八鲜)," a rural revitalization brand by Maoming Binhai New Area's state-owned enterprises, promotes local specialty agricultural products to boost the rural economy. Leveraging Bohe Fishing Port—one of the largest ports in the South China Sea—Maoba Xian sources seafood directly from local fishermen and employs advanced low-temperature freezing for processing. Earlier this year, the brand opened a popular gift shop at Xige Post, featuring local seafood favorites that attract tourists from Guangzhou, Guizhou, and beyond.
All "Maoba Xian" seafood is sourced directly from local fishermen.
The green shrimp shipment includes two popular sizes—31-40 and 51-60 pieces per 500g—meeting strict quality standards for the Hong Kong market. Unlike traditional self-export models, "Maoba Xian" adopts an industrial chain collaboration strategy, partnering with established local traders to create a seamless "local production—professional trade—terminal market" supply chain, ensuring efficient delivery of premium aquatic products to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
On August 16, the South China Sea's three-and-a-half-month summer fishing moratorium will end, marked by the Maoming Fishing Festival at Bohe Fishing Port. This year's festival will feature a "three-day, two-night fishing tour," including a sea worship ceremony, seafood feast, opening celebration, first-catch auction, cultural parade, music festival, beach parties, and more—offering visitors an immersive experience in local fishing culture. With the ban lifted, seafood like shrimp and crab will become more abundant, giving consumers a chance to enjoy the season's freshest catch.
