Over 40 signature prepared food products from 13 leading Maoming companies took center stage at the 3rd China International (Foshan) Prepared Food Industry Conference and 2025 Guangdong (Foshan) Prepared Food Expo, held on July 18-20 at Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Known for its rich agricultural resources, Maoming provides premium ingredients for China's growing prepared food industry. Processed tilapia, shrimp paste, squid cakes, and canned seafood are increasingly appearing on family dining tables and entering international markets.
Maoming-based Guangdong Yingjin Qian Haibao Food Co., Ltd. has exported to 53 countries and regions, with sales rising by 30% in the first half of 2025. Sardine, tuna, and mackerel cans remain customer favorites overseas.
According to iiMedia Research, China's prepared food market reached 485 billion yuan in 2024, up 34.2% year-on-year. Guangdong alone contributed 960 billion yuan, accounting for 13.7% of the national total.
In recent years, Maoming has accelerated the development of its "Five Trees, One Fish, One Table" model—featuring local specialties like lychee, longan, Sanhua Plum, agarwood, Huajuhong (pomelo peel from Huazhou), tilapia, and prepared food—boosting the city's agricultural and food processing industries.
