Guangdong Province and Finland secured more than 20 cooperation intentions at the China (Guangdong)-Finland Trade and Economic Cooperation Conference held in Xiamen on September 8, during the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
The event brought together over 120 key enterprises and institutional representatives from both sides. They held targeted investment cooperation talks in sectors including green energy, circular economy, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, new materials, cultural tourism and wellness.
Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland Sakari Puisto and Ambassador of Finland to China Mikko Kinnunen attended the conference.
Puisto noted strong economic complementarity and broad cooperation potential between the two sides, and said he expected to see more win-win projects based on Guangdong's robust industrial system and huge market.
Zhang Jinsong, Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, welcomed Finnish firms to expand their presence in China and the Asia-Pacific through cross-border R&D and incubation in Guangdong, while supporting Guangdong enterprises in accessing European technologies in Finland. In a keynote speech, Zhang highlighted Guangdong's edge in industrial and supply chains, two-way market access, policy dividends, innovation synergy and an optimized business environment.
Both sides held in-depth business exchanges. Zhang also met representatives from KONE, Detection Technology and Business Tampere, reaching consensus on advancing the construction of their respective South China projects.
