Huizhou pioneers Guangdong's first green external debt pilot program

Agricultural Bank of China's Huizhou Branch recently facilitated the province's first pilot green external debt registration for a local technology company, marking the official implementation of the green external debt pilot policy in Huizhou.

Launched in August by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange across 16 provinces and municipalities, the green external debt pilot policy encourages non-financial enterprises to use cross-border financing exclusively for green or low-carbon transition projects. The policy significantly raises the cap on cross-border financing for qualified firms while streamlining procedural requirements.

The tech company, specializing in photovoltaic equipment manufacturing, power generation technology services, and related fields, has notable technological expertise and market influence in the green energy sector. With rapid business expansion increasing its financing needs, Agricultural Bank of China's Huizhou Branch formed a dedicated team to design a tailored green external debt solution. The registration was completed on the same day the pilot policy took effect in Guangdong.
