Guangzhou premium products to hit ASEAN markets with first stop in Singapore on June 16

Guangzhou will launch a series of trade promotion events across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on June 16 at Sentosa, Singapore, introducing high-quality Guangzhou-made goods to the regional market.

The event marks the first stop of a year-long campaign covering multiple ASEAN countries, with more than 40 trade promotion and business matchmaking activities planned. The Singapore debut is set to be a high-profile, large-scale trade event focused on matching supply with demand, covering a wide range of consumer and industrial products, and serving as a gateway for Guangzhou products seeking access to ASEAN markets.

Nearly 600 representatives from ASEAN business communities and e-commerce platforms have been invited. Business matchmaking sessions and sector-specific procurement meetings will be arranged, with major supermarket chains, leading retailers, and cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada in attendance.

According to data from the Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, trade between Guangzhou and ASEAN countries has maintained strong momentum. In 2025, Guangzhou’s total foreign trade with ASEAN countries exceeded RMB 200 billion, up 28%.

With the durian harvest season peaking in Malaysia and Thailand, the first batch of imported durians has already arrived at Guangzhou’s Nansha Port, China’s largest seaport for durian imports. In the second quarter of 2026, Guangzhou is expected to import more than RMB 1 billion worth of durians and other tropical fruits from ASEAN.
