Huizhou launches first AED-equipped buses to assist cardiac arrest patients

Huizhou recently equipped five bus routes with AEDs to enhance passenger safety.

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a portable device that helps treat sudden cardiac arrest. Five units, donated by a local enterprise, have been installed on Bus Routes 1, 15, 19, 21, and 37, which serve many elderly passengers.

Huizhou plans to equip 100 buses with AEDs over the next three years and train over 800 bus drivers as certified emergency responders, boosting the city's emergency response capacity.
