Hengqin to host global healthcare investment summit in October

The China-Global Healthcare Investment and Partnership Summit (CHIPS) will take place in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin from October 29 to 31, the organizing committee announced at a press conference.

The summit is aimed at helping innovative drugmakers and medical device firms expand overseas. It will bring together industry decision-makers, investors and regulatory experts from key markets such as Europe and the United States, alongside innovative Chinese enterprises, research institutes and medical institutions.

Discussions will cover global pharmaceutical innovation, cross-border regulatory reform, emerging technologies and how industrial capital approaches investment in the sector.

The conference will feature 10 thematic sessions, including drug regulation and registration, traditional Chinese medicine, financing for biopharmaceutical development, metabolic and weight-loss therapies, AI, medical devices, routes into overseas markets, and business partnerships.

Roadshows and targeted matchmaking sessions for deal negotiations will also be held, spanning the entire chain from R&D innovation to global collaboration, creating opportunities for partnerships and transactions.

Cao Jinfeng, deputy director of the cooperation zone's executive committee, stated that Hengqin will continue to optimize its business environment and provide a more open and diverse space for global cooperation and exchange in innovative pharmaceuticals and medical technology.

He hoped the summit will draw top-tier innovation resources, industrial capital and talent to Hengqin, and lead to more deals and projects taking shape there.
