New grade-A tertiary hospital (campus) of stomatology opens in Guangzhou's Tianhe CBD

Recently, the Tianhe Campus of the Guanghua Stomatological College of Sun Yat-sen University officially commenced operations.

Located in the heart of Zhujiang New Town, just about a 100-meter walk from the Zhujiang New Town subway station, the new campus is strategically positioned. The 25-story building, with 22 floors above ground and 3 below, houses 260 dental chairs and covers all 8 national clinical key specialties in stomatology.

It includes 13 clinical departments, such as Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Implantology, Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Mucosal Diseases, Oral Prevention, Comprehensive Health Care, International Oral Medical Center, Teeth Cleaning Center, and Medical Imaging.

The first-floor lobby features a service island, a café, a hospital history corridor, a science popularization area, a nursing room, and other comfortable waiting facilities. It also includes an aerial garden to create an eco-friendly waiting space.

On the opening day, various departments received their first batch of patients. Ms. Liang, a local resident, brought her 9-year-old son to the Pediatric Dentistry Department on the second floor for a tooth extraction. She remarked, "The new campus has a great environment, making dental visits much more convenient."

As a hospital under the direct administration of the National Health Commission and one of the first national oral regional medical centers jointly built by the commission and provincial governments, the Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University, previously concentrated its medical resources mainly at its Yuexiu Campus, Dongpu Clinic, and Zhujiang New Town Clinic.

In the future, all experts from the Yuexiu Campus will visit the Tianhe Campus to meet the dental care needs of the public. As a new hub for oral healthcare in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Tianhe Campus focuses on "smart hospital" construction to promote digital and refined diagnostic and treatment services while also emphasizing humanistic medical care. It will extend its reach throughout the Greater Bay Area through specialized alliances and telemedicine.
