On November 8th, the 2024 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was inaugurated in Guangzhou, spotlighting the region's allure for global investment.
Peter Helis, Chief Advisor of the Guangzhou Development District Investment Promotion Bureau, shared his insights on the event's impact. "I think this kind of conference really helps to build the image of the Greater Bay Area," Helis remarked. He highlighted the economic metrics of the region, drawing parallels with major global economies.
Helis elaborated on the strategic importance of the area, noting its dense integration of resources: "So we have a very concentrated area of supply chain, of talent, and also of market." He continued, emphasizing the draw for businesses: "Especially now companies come here for the very attractive market, because the purchasing power here is very strong."
