Try water sports in Guangdong this summer

Nothing says summer in Guangdong like getting out on the water. From family-friendly kayaking to adrenaline-pumping jet skiing and wakesurfing, here are some of the province's best spots for a refreshing day outdoors.

Guangzhou O-HORSE Luhu Water Sports Center (广州橙马O-HORSE麓湖水上活动中心)

Each summer, the water sports center in Luhu Park becomes one of Guangzhou's most popular waterfront destinations. Visitors can try dragon boating, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and water bikes, with courses and experiences suitable for all ages.

After time on the water, visitors can enjoy blooming water lilies, relax on the lakeside lawn or enjoy panoramic views from Honghu Tower, making the park an easy summer escape in the city.

Shenzhen Marina Club (大梅沙国际水上运动中心)

For those who prefer the sea, Shenzhen Marina Club offers a range of ocean adventures. Beginners can start with SUP, while thrill-seekers can hop on a jet ski or try wake surfing. Surrounded by mountains and water, it is an ideal place to enjoy sea breezes and coastal scenery on an active summer day.

Minghu Water Sports Center, Foshan (明湖水上运动中心)

Located inside Phase II of Minghu Park, this waterfront recreation area offers both high-speed water sports and family-friendly fun. Visitors can ride electric water karts and water bikes, or try kayaking and SUP, while children can ride duck boats and bumper boats, or play at an inflatable water playground. A sightseeing train circles the lake. With restaurants and picnic areas on site, it is easy to spend the whole day here.

Sunlit Marina · Club, Hengqin (沐光码头·刻拉博)

Set along the Tianmu River, Sunlit Marina · Club brings together leisure boating and non-motorized water sports in one destination. Visitors can choose from yachts, paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats and water bikes, making the marina a good option for families, couples and groups of friends looking for a relaxing day by the water.

Zhaoqing Star Glow Water Sports Base (肇庆星魅水上运动基地)

This water sports base offers experiences including SUP, kayaking, electric surfboarding and water karting on calm waters surrounded by karst peaks. While paddling across the lake, visitors can enjoy views of the Seven Star Crags and spot egrets gliding overhead, combining outdoor adventure with some of Zhaoqing's most iconic landscapes.
