
Looking for something different to do during the National Day holiday? From fireworks and international performances to immersive night tours, folk festivals and mountain adventures, tourist attractions across Guangdong are rolling out special activities for the holiday. Here are some highlights to add to your itinerary.
Sunac Resort, Guangzhou (广州融创文旅城)
Guangzhou Sunac Land (广州融创乐园) at Sunac Resort has lined up a full day of entertainment for the holiday. Visitors can start with an immersive 5D experience, followed by a children's stage show, a festive parade, an international circus and Chinese-style performances.

In the afternoon, the lawn by the Ferris wheel hosts a music party. After dark, the fun continues with a fireworks parade, a Ferris wheel light show, a large-scale Lingnan-style performance, a bonfire party and a closing show.
Next door, Bonski (热雪奇迹) combines ice, snow and Lingnan traditions with a fish-lantern exhibition, snow-themed performances, a festive market and interactive activities. From October 1 to October 3, visitors can also enjoy live music and a large-scale fish-lantern parade between the snow and ski areas.

Shenzhen Splendid China Folk Culture Village Tourist Area (锦绣中华民俗文化村)
The tourist area turns itself into a giant autumn harvest scene. Corn, pumpkins, peppers, wheat and other crops decorate the park, creating plenty of photo spots. Visitors can join hands-on activities such as herding sheep, feeding camels, opening fresh coconuts, roasting chestnuts and taking part in pumpkin and corn-peeling challenges.

The park also stages harvest-themed shows, parades, folk performances and special stunt shows, including equestrian and water stunts.

Foshan Ancestral Temple Museum (祖庙博物馆)
Foshan Ancestral Temple will turn its grounds into a Qing Dynasty-style night market from 18:30 to 21:30 during the National Day holiday, recreating the atmosphere of an old Foshan marketplace with traditional crafts, local foods and cultural experiences.

Visitors can browse stalls featuring Shiwan ceramics, Canton embroidery, lantern-making, Xiangyunsha (Xiangyun Silk) and chenpi (dried tangerine peel), while enjoying lion dances, martial arts and other folk performances. Interactive activities such as pitch-pot and lantern riddles will also be available, offering a hands-on way to experience traditional Chinese culture.

Chikan International Tourism Resort, Jiangmen (赤坎·广东华侨国际旅游度假区)
Chikan International Tourism Resort is bringing international performances to its historic streets during the holiday. Artists from countries including France, Italy, Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Croatia and Chile will present 14 special shows, creating an unusual mix of Eastern and Western performance styles.

Two large parades will feature nearly 200 international performers, giant puppets and stilt walkers. Visitors can enjoy a new stage production combining Chinese martial arts with theatrical storytelling, while the resort will also continue its regular lineup of more than 20 performances, including molten iron fireworks and fire pot shows.

Danxia Mountain Scenic Area, Shaoguan (丹霞山风景名胜区)
Danxia Mountain will offer a mix of outdoor adventures and festive activities during the National Day holiday. Visitors can start the day with a sunrise concert, then explore a martial arts-themed market and interactive performances featuring fire-breathing, Sichuan Opera face-changing, poetry games and traditional dance. In the evening, they can also take a night cruise featuring a fire-themed water performance.

From October 1 to October 3, the Bazhai area will also host a public hiking event. It's worth enjoying sunrise views, boat rides, a cable car ride, the easy-access hiking trail and the Via Ferrata.

Tianlu Mountain Tourist Resort, Yunfu (天露山旅游度假区)
A folk carnival celebrating the Wa ethnic group will bring performances and interactive activities to Tianlu Mountain during the National Day holiday. From 14:00 to 16:00, visitors can watch traditional-style performances and join interactive activities including a "throwing the embroidered ball" matchmaking game and a live-action Journey to the West show. At night, the bonfire party features folk dances, fire performances, bamboo-pole dancing, group dancing and a Wa-style music party.
