In celebration of Teachers' Day, scenic spots across Guangdong are offering free admission and other perks for teachers in the coming days. Here are some places where teachers can enjoy a break.
Habitat Creek, Guangzhou (七溪地)
Surrounded by forests, waterfalls and aromatic plants, Habitat Creek is a peaceful retreat where visitors can enjoy traditional incense-making, sachet crafts and tea experiences. A forest wellness trail also leads to a series of waterfalls, while local ingredients and aromatic herbs feature in the scenic area's cuisine.

Offer: Teachers can enter free of charge for sightseeing with their teacher qualification certificate. International teachers can present either proof of current teaching employment in China or an internationally recognized teaching qualification, together with their passport. Xiaomeisha Sea World is home to more than 200 species of marine and polar animals, including beluga whales, polar bears, penguins, sharks and jellyfish. Visitors can also enjoy immersive performances and laser projection shows. Nearby Xiaomeisha Coastal Resort features an 880-meter beach, with water sports options such as jet skiing, flyboarding, paddleboarding and sailing.

Historic Qilou (arcade buildings) stretch along the Tanjiang River at Chikan International Tourism Resort, creating a distinctive old-town atmosphere. Visitors can stroll along the waterfront, take a traditional rowing boat or ride a vintage tram. The resort also stages immersive performances featuring fireworks, iron flowers, fire pots and dragon dances, while local snacks can be found along the old streets.

A 6.8-kilometer scenic road winds through the mountain, passing waterfalls and ancient trees. Visitors can also see the world's largest granite Guanyin statue, a thousand-year-old Guanyin Temple, Ciyun Pavilion and other cultural attractions.
