China Southern Airlines will operate more than 190,000 flights from July 1 to August 31, averaging more than 3,000 flights a day, as the summer travel season gets underway in China. The carrier is expanding its domestic and international networks, increasing capacity on high-demand leisure and long-haul routes, and adding services to popular tourist destinations across the country.
On domestic routes, China Southern Airlines will launch new services and increase frequencies from its major hubs in Guangzhou, Beijing Daxing, and Urumqi. The expansion includes more flights to Xining, Hailar, Dali, Lijiang, Aksu, Yining, Changbaishan, and Yinchuan. Additional wide-body aircraft will also be deployed on several busy routes linking Xinjiang with major cities across China.
Internationally, the airline plans to operate more than 130 international and regional routes during the summer season. It will add flights from Guangzhou to London, Moscow, Nairobi, Singapore, Yangon, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. In addition, services will be increased from Shenzhen to Ho Chi Minh City and from Changsha to Hanoi. It will also expand service from Urumqi, Beijing Daxing, Guangzhou, and Xi'an to Central Asian destinations, including Tashkent, Yerevan, Astana, Bishkek, and Almaty.
According to the airline, demand for travel to North America is expected to remain strong this summer, partly due to the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup. China Southern Airlines currently operates 38 weekly flights on seven routes to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and has introduced promotional fares and loyalty rewards for members traveling to the tournament.
