Transport adjustments made as Typhoon Wipha approaches Guangdong

As Typhoon Wipha, the sixth typhoon of the year, approaches Guangdong province, authorities are implementing a series of transport adjustments in preparation for its arrival.

The Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has suspended outbound customs clearance services since 2:30 a.m. on July 20. The main bridge section has been temporarily closed since 3:30 a.m. on July 20. The reopening time will be announced later based on the typhoon's development.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has been closed since midnight on July 20, with the reopening time to be determined by the typhoon's progress and announced later.

According to the Guangzhou Bureau of China Railway, trains on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway will be halted from 11 a.m. on July 20 to 9 a.m. on July 21. Trains on the Shenzhen-Zhanjiang Railway will be suspended from 12 p.m. on July 20 to 12 p.m. on July 21.

On July 20, speed-restriction operations or suspension measures will be implemented for some trains on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, and Hangzhou-Shenzhen Railway.

In addition, due to the closure of cross-sea ferry services, suspension or adjustment of operating sections will affect some passenger trains on the Guangzhou-Maoming Railway.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has issued a travel advisory, warning passengers about potential flight disruptions during the typhoon period. Travelers are encouraged to closely monitor flight schedule updates through official airline websites, mobile apps, or other official channels before heading to the airport.
