Yangxin Expressway opens to link Northern Gaozhou with Greater Bay Area

The Yangxin Expressway (Yangchun–Xinyi), a 142-kilometer vital link in Guangdong, opened on December 28, significantly improving connectivity between Maoming's northern region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The expressway runs from Yangchun City in Yangjiang in the east to Xinyi City in Maoming in the west. The section within Gaozhou is about 46 kilometers long, linking six towns—Dapo, Guding, Magui, Shenzhen, Pingshan, and Dong'an—ending the previous lack of expressway access in northern Gaozhou.

With the opening of this expressway, travel time from northern Gaozhou to core cities in the Pearl River Delta has been significantly reduced, further integrating the area into the Greater Bay Area's "three-hour living circle." It is expected to boost the development of agriculture, tourism, and other industries in the towns along the route.
