Sun Yat-sen University South Gate Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 10 officially opened to passengers on December 29, marking the full operation of all 12 stations along the line between Xilang and Yangji East.

Located at the intersection of Xingang West Road and Ruikang Road in Haizhu District, the station is less than a 200-meter walk from the South Gate of Sun Yat-sen University. Designed under Line 10's "one district, one color" concept, the station features a blue-toned interior, symbolizing Haizhu District.

When Line 10 first opened in June, Sun Yat-sen University South Gate Station temporarily skipped stops due to surrounding conditions and land acquisition issues that affected fire safety requirements. Its opening, coinciding with the launch of the later section of Metro Line 22, now provides residents along Xingang West Road with a new north–south travel option.
