China Southern Airlines expanded its China Southern Air Shuttle network to 18 cities on Sept. 21, adding a new Beijing Daxing-Urumqi service, while launching the Nanchuan Air Shuttle with Sichuan Airlines on three routes linking Chengdu with Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Urumqi.
The Nanchuan Air Shuttle covers flights from Chengdu Tianfu and Shuangliu airports to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Urumqi. By coordinating flight schedules and services, the two airlines will give passengers more flight options and greater flexibility when changing flights.
Passengers using the Nanchuan Air Shuttle can make one eligible same-day change to a flight operated by either airline without paying a change fee. Depending on the route, passengers can switch between Chengdu Tianfu and Shuangliu airports or between Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Passengers can also access unified ground services at the four airports, while eligible frequent-flyer members of the two airlines can enjoy reciprocal benefits including priority check-in, baggage handling services and lounge access.
Separately, China Southern has expanded the flexible-change benefits of its Air Shuttle to passengers across all cabin classes on domestic shuttle routes. Passengers can make one eligible same-day change to another flight on the same route or switch to a China Southern flight departing from designated alternative airports without paying a change fee. Passengers in designated fare classes can also change flights without paying the fare difference.
China Southern has also added the Beijing Daxing-Urumqi route to its Air Shuttle network on the same day, bringing the service to 20 routes serving 18 cities. The network is centered on the airline's three hubs in Guangzhou, Beijing and Urumqi, with routes connecting the hubs to major business and leisure destinations including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Haikou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Kunming, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shenyang, Shenzhen and Changsha.
