With the latest achievement, both main towers of the critical transportation project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have been finished, marking a significant milestone in the construction of the high-speed Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway.

The main bridge of the joint road and railway construction section spans 1.411 kilometers, with the upper level accommodating an eight-lane urban expressway and the lower-level housing a four-line high-speed railway.

The bridge, which is one of the key control projects of the entire Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway, employs a double-tower and double-cable-plane semi-floating system, which presents significant construction challenges and a high level of technical complexity.

The completion of the bridge will enable a half-hour high-speed rail connection between Qianhai in Shenzhen and Nansha in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, as well as a one-hour direct link between Shenzhen and Jiangmen.

The bridge will significantly help promote the integration and development of the eastern and western shores of the Pearl River estuary, facilitating coordinated development between the eastern and western areas of Guangdong.
