Cambodia Airways will launch a twice-weekly direct service between Sihanoukville and Guangzhou on July 17, strengthening air links between southern China and Cambodia's coastal region.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia's largest deep-water seaport, is also a fast-growing beach destination known for its golden sands, tropical islands, and vibrant nightlife. The new route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft under flight numbers KR933 and KR934, marking the latest addition to the airline's expanding China network.
The launch comes as travel demand between the two countries continues to recover, offering more flexibility for business and leisure travelers. Guangzhou, a major economic hub in southern China, serves as an important international gateway, while Sihanoukville's strategic position as both a commercial port and tourist hotspot has attracted increasing numbers of Chinese visitors and investors.
The direct service is expected to facilitate trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, further cementing bilateral ties. The route is also served twice weekly by Sky Angkor Airlines, giving passengers another option for travel between Sihanoukville and Guangzhou.
