Check Before You Fly: Airlines to relocate at Guangzhou Baiyun Int'l Airport as Terminal 1 closes for renovation

The Terminal 1 (T1) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will cease operations for renovation from January 22, according to the airport's latest announcements. Airlines currently operating from T1 will be relocated in phases to Terminals 2 and 3.

From January 15, 9 Air, Loong Air, and Chengdu Airlines will move both arriving and departing flights to Terminal 2, with check-in counters located in Zone F.

Full transition to Terminal 3 (Jan 21–22)

The airport has confirmed that all airlines previously operating from T1 will switch to Terminal 3 (T3) in an orderly manner between January 21 and 22.

Domestic flights: From 02:00 on January 22, all domestic arrivals and departures previously handled at T1 will be transferred to T3. This affects 12 domestic airlines, including: Air China (CA), Hainan Airlines (HU), Shenzhen Airlines (ZH), Spring Airlines (9C), Kunming Airlines (KY), Shandong Airlines (SC), Tibet Airlines (TV), Capital Airlines (JD), Tianjin Airlines (GS), West Air (PN), Urumqi Air (UQ), and Lucky Air (8L).

International flights: From 11:30 on January 22, all international flights operated by 34 airlines will be handled at T3. Flights scheduled before 11:30 on January 22 will continue to operate from T1.

The airport urges passengers to carefully check booking details and airline notifications, arrive early, and plan onward transportation in advance. A free 24-hour shuttle bus will continue to run between Terminals 1, 2 and 3 for passengers who arrive at the wrong terminal.

Passengers on code-share flights are advised to confirm the actual operating carrier, as terminal arrangements depend on the airline operating the flight. Final information is subject to the latest notices issued by airlines.
