Russia's Rossiya Airlines launches Krasnoyarsk–Guangzhou nonstop service

Russia's Rossiya Airlines will launch a new nonstop route between Krasnoyarsk, the largest city in central Siberia, and Guangzhou on July 4. The new route will strengthen air links between southern China and the Siberian region.

The new FV6637/FV6638 service will operate twice a week, offering a direct connection that significantly reduces travel time compared with existing one-stop itineraries.

The route is expected to strengthen growing business and tourism ties between the two cities. As one of Siberia's largest economic centers, Krasnoyarsk is home to major timber, non-ferrous metals, and energy industries. It also has an increasing demand for commercial cooperation and investment partnerships with China.

The new flights will also provide easier access for leisure travelers. Located along the Yenisei River, Krasnoyarsk is renowned for its dramatic natural landscapes, including the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, as well as its cultural attractions such as its opera and ballet theater.

The launch comes as Russia continues its visa-free policy for holders of Chinese ordinary passports. Under the current arrangement, Chinese citizens traveling to Russia for tourism, business, family visits, cultural, scientific, sporting, or transit purposes may enter the country without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. The policy is scheduled to remain in effect until September 14, 2026, subject to any future changes by the Russian government.
