Intelligent customs clearance model cuts logistics costs at Maoming Port

Thanks to the "Intelligent Inspection and Supervision Model for Imported Coal," Maoming Customs (affiliated with Zhanjiang Customs) has completed inspections and supervision for 12 batches of imported coal (totaling 890,000 metric tons). The average customs clearance time per batch has been reduced by over 8 hours, saving enterprises a total of 890,000 yuan in logistics costs.

Wu Xianfeng, Director of the Fuel Department at Guangdong Yuedian Bohe Energy Co., Ltd., noted that Unit 3 of the Maoming Bohe Power Plant was recently put into operation. As demand for imported coal surges, the new model has greatly facilitated customs clearance for cargo.

The model employs cutting-edge technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and artificial intelligence (AI), enabling full-process intelligent supervision of imported coal from unloading to inspection.

Supported by advanced automated equipment, customs inspection and supervision are integrated into the entire logistics process of enterprises. Real-time sampling is conducted while coal is unloaded, and online testing instruments quickly analyze radioactive elements and inclusions in the coal. The data is transmitted to the supervision platform in real time via IoT for customs officers' remote monitoring and analysis. In the event of quality anomalies, the system triggers immediate automatic alerts, significantly enhancing inspection efficiency and accuracy.
