As of 6 p.m. on June 13, the number of vehicle trips entering and exiting Hengqin Port exceeded 2 million this year, up 42.4% year on year. Among them, Macao-registered single-plate vehicles accounted for nearly 1.32 million trips, a year-on-year increase of 42.3%, highlighting robust cross-border mobility between the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the Macao SAR.

As a key port connecting Hengqin and Macao, Hengqin Port has rolled out innovative customs clearance mechanisms, including the country's first integrated one-stop clearance model and the joint inspection and one-time release system. Five relevant inspection authorities conduct joint inspections and clearance within a single lane.
Macao residents driving between Hengqin and Macao can finish all procedures, including temperature checks and fingerprint verification, in less than two minutes at the one-stop clearance vehicle lanes of Hengqin Port.
To cater to residents' frequent daily needs such as schooling, medical services, and commuting, customs authorities have teamed up with departments in both Hengqin and Macao to introduce a series of facilitation measures. These include shared electronic clearance tags for Macao-registered single-plate vehicles, drive-through clearance for cross-border students, and a cross-border hospital-to-hospital patient transfer mechanism.
In addition, the policy allowing Macao-registered single-plate vehicles to travel northward from Hengqin is being steadily rolled out and expanded.
