The joint one-stop service lanes for commercial vehicles at Hengqin Port have processed 6.37 million vehicle trips since their full launch two years ago.
Operated under a co-inspection model between the Chinese mainland and Macao, the system allows vehicles to complete exit and entry procedures in a single stop. The streamlined process has cut average clearance time from around eight minutes to under 100 seconds, with the fastest cases taking about 50 seconds.
Officials said traffic has surged since the system was introduced. Daily vehicle flows have risen from about 5,500 at the start of operations to roughly 12,000 this year. The busiest day on record saw 13,400 crossings on February 11. Macao-registered single-plated vehicles account for the majority of traffic, making up nearly two-thirds of the total.
Meanwhile, since a related inspection hall for passengers traveling with vehicles opened in April 2024, more than 3.9 million crossings have been recorded.
