Foshan Station to open on July 1, new bullet train services roll out

Foshan Railway Station will officially open on July 1, with two extra bullet train routes newly put into operation alongside the launch of a nationwide revised railway timetable taking effect at midnight the same day.

According to the updated schedule, China Railway Guangzhou Group will operate 3,318 passenger trains, an increase of 77, and 201 freight trains, up by 15 from the previous timetable.

Following the opening of Foshan Railway Station, two additional bullet train services will be launched between Foshan and Changsha. Additionally, 32 Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity trains that currently depart from Guangzhou North and Guangzhou Baiyun stations will be adjusted to originate and terminate at Foshan Station.

The new timetable will roll out two trains running between Guangzhou South and Yiwu in Zhejiang province for the first time, enhancing industrial cooperation between the two cities.

The adjustments also focus on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. The stop arrangements for key trains from Changsha to Shenzhen will be optimized. Twelve trains between Changsha South and Guangzhou South will operate non-stop. Some journeys will be shortened by up to eight minutes. In addition, the number of high-speed trains traveling at 350 km/h on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway will increase, with 221 high-speed services operating at the top speed, 16 more than before.

The route of trains between Shenzhen North and Shanghai Hongqiao will be optimized, reducing the total travel time by 39 minutes for a single journey.

The new timetable will increase train frequency at key stations around Guangzhou South and Shenzhen North. A total of 39 additional train stops will be added at stations, including Guangmingcheng, Zhongkai, and Huizhou North. Cross-border travel services will also be expanded, with more stops added for trains traveling between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Futian.

In response to growing passenger demand, four extra trains will run between Zhanjiang North and Shenzhen.

China Railway Guangzhou Group will adjust several routes, including services from Shenzhen North to Xi'an North, Guangzhou South to Yinchuan, Xi'an North to Guangzhou South, and Yan'an to Guangzhou.

Tickets under the updated schedule have been available for purchase since June 17. Passengers can check train schedules and service updates via the 12306 railway app and website, as well as announcements from local railway authorities and stations.
