Guangdong Intercity Railway is set to link Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport once a new rail section opens, following a new timetable that took effect on July 22.
The Zhuliao-Xintangnan section (竹料-新塘南) and the Dongguanxi (东莞西) connecting line will soon join the network, extending the existing Xintangnan-Shenzhen Airport line (新塘南-深圳机场). Once open, the connection will also serve Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City and Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The new timetable is part of a broader push to tighten rail links among Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhaoqing and Qingyuan, and to build a one-hour commuting circle across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Once open, the new section will use the dual ticketing system of Guangdong Intercity and 12306 China Railway. Passengers will be able to scan a QR code to enter the station, board without assigned seats, and depart without delay.
The railway keeps its current mix of all-stop and express trains under the new timetable, with two express routes to be added once the new section opens.

Five all-stop routes operate daily:
Feixia-Guangzhoubaiyun (飞霞-广州白云)
Panyu-Huizhoubei (番禺-惠州北)
Baiyun Airport North-Pazhou-Dongguanxi (白云机场北-琶洲-东莞西)
Huadu-Zhaoqing (花都-肇庆)
Xintangnan-Shenzhen Airport (新塘南-深圳机场)
Six express routes operate daily:
Guangzhoubaiyun-Qingcheng- Feixia (广州白云-清城-飞霞)
Zhaoqing-Huizhoubei (肇庆-惠州北)
Panyu-Huizhoubei (番禺-惠州北)
Huadu-Huizhoubei (花都-惠州北)
Baiyun Airport North-Foshanxi (白云机场北-佛山西)
Xintangnan-Shenzhen Airport (新塘南-深圳机场)
