The first direct tourist train from Hong Kong to Meizhou arrived on November 8, carrying nearly 500 visitors to the heart of Hakka culture in Guangdong Province. The special service arrived at Meizhou West Station at 12:23 PM and aims to provide a seamless journey into the eastern mountainous region of Guangdong, eliminating transfer delays.

The train, numbered G6542, departs from Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station. With a travel time of about two hours and 14 minutes, second-class tickets are priced at approximately 274 yuan. This initiative is part of a broader "rail plus culture" strategy to boost regional tourism integration.
Meizhou, home to over 4,000 traditional enclosed Hakka Weilong Houses, serves as a major preservation hub for Hakka traditions, language, and crafts. To enhance the visitor experience, local authorities have designed six themed tour routes. These itineraries blend heritage, nature, and culinary experiences, covering key attractions across Meizhou's eight counties and districts. The tours include visits to geothermal hot spring resorts, national geological parks, and feature local delicacies.
