China Southern Airlines has successfully launched two new international routes on March 29, with inaugural flights connecting Guangzhou to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, and Beijing Daxing to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, expanding links with Central Asia and Northern Europe.

The Guangzhou–Bishkek service is currently the only direct passenger route between southern China and Kyrgyzstan. Operated twice weekly by a Boeing 737-8, the flight takes just over six hours and is expected to facilitate trade and people-to-people exchanges between China and Central Asia. With this addition, the airline now runs four routes to Kyrgyzstan, increasing frequencies between the two countries to 11 weekly return flights.

The Beijing Daxing–Helsinki route, flown by a Boeing 787, marks the airline's first service to Finland and provides a direct link between the two capitals. It operates three times a week initially and will increase to daily flights from late June, offering more flexibility for both business and leisure travelers.

The new Helsinki route is also expected to improve cargo efficiency by reducing transit times between China and Europe. Through partnerships and onward connections, passengers can access a wider network across Europe, while transit services in Beijing support smoother transfers.

The airline stated that the new routes form part of broader efforts to expand its international network and strengthen connectivity with key regions across Eurasia.
