Thai Airways is expected to increase its Bangkok-Guangzhou service to twice daily from August 1, 2026, subject to schedule confirmation. The additional flight is currently planned to be operated by an Airbus A321neo, providing extra capacity on a key route linking Thailand and southern China.
The additional service will further strengthen air connectivity between Guangzhou and Bangkok, with up to 20 daily flights operated by eight airlines linking the two cities. The extensive network reflects the importance of the China-Thailand travel market and supports growing demand from business and leisure travelers.
Meanwhile, Cambodia's Sky Angkor Airlines plans to launch a three-times-weekly Phnom Penh-Guangzhou service from July 10, becoming the fifth carrier serving the route. The launch will see Sky Angkor Airlines join China Southern Airlines, Air Cambodia, Cambodia National Airlines and Spring Airlines. Together, the airlines will operate up to nine daily return flights between the two cities, further strengthening connectivity between southern China and Cambodia.
Beyond Southeast Asia, Air Algérie will continue operating its Algiers-Guangzhou service (AH3180/3181) between North Africa and southern China through the 2026/27 winter and spring season, maintaining three weekly flights from October 25. The airline also plans to launch a Shanghai service from October 26, extending its Chinese mainland network to three major gateways, alongside Beijing and Guangzhou.
